About the Archaeologist

Hi there! My name is Page Strong. I’m a professional archaeologist and this blog follows me on my adventures. Or the lack thereof. It depends on the season. Summer is an exciting time, filled with survey and ancient artifacts. Winter is a bit more sedate, filled with looking for a new job for the coming summer and expanding my websites.

It was my dream since early high school to become an archaeologist, and no, it had nothing to do with Indiana Jones, though I do love his movies! No, I looked to Egypt for my inspiration in archaeology. Nothing could captivate my imagination quite like empty, echoing temples with colorful gods and goddesses smiling at the passersby. In 2008, I achieved part of my dream when I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology. Soon, I hope to be returning to a university’s halls to study for a Master’s degree in Egyptology.

In the meantime, I do what I can to continue to study my favorite subjects within Egyptology. I also write and have two novels in progress, with many others tickling my brain wanting to be written. I love to read, listen to music, play the violin and play the piano. I am a proud singer, but will only perform if forced or if I’m hidden within a choir.

Keep watch here at The Chocolate Archaeologist for updates on my life, recipes I enjoy, snippets of my novels and other random information I find interesting. Check out The Mummy’s Wrap for my articles about ancient Egypt.
